Hey there! I’m Marta, a Spanish journalist who made the leap and moved to Dubai over a year ago. Before the move, I was going through a bit of a career crisis (hello, turning 30!), feeling lost and uncertain. So, what did I do? I decided to open a little online jewelry store, drawn to the simplicity and timelessness of the business. I wasn’t someone who changed accessories every day—and I still don’t. But running this little store taught me to truly appreciate how jewelry can be the hero of any outfit.

When I first arrived in Dubai, I couldn’t find a job that felt right for me, and the idea of reopening my jewelry store kept buzzing in my mind. A few months later, Marea was born!
Marea is a jewelry brand inspired by summer and the unique connection between Dubai and Spain. These two places share a special bond through their beaches and the vibrant energy of the sea. Picture the crystal-clear waters and golden sands of Spain's Mediterranean coasts, mirrored in the majestic beaches of Dubai. This connection, based on natural beauty and the warmth of the sun, inspires our jewelry at Marea, evoking the energy and vitality that define both places. Because let’s face it, a little sun and sea never hurt anyone, right?
At Marea, we don’t just create beautiful jewelry, but practical jewelry too! We use 18k gold-plated stainless steel, meaning you don’t have to worry about losing its shine, even if you take a dip in the pool. They’re hypoallergenic, so no irritation worries, and they can handle water and chemicals. But, like anything good, it’s better not to overdo it. We chose the name Marea because it perfectly captures the essence of our brand. The word “marea” in Spanish refers to the ocean tides, constantly shifting with the pull of the moon and sun. This ebb and flow mirrors the way our brand is always evolving, always connected to nature, and always timeless—just like the sea. Marea represents that natural elegance that never fades, keeping you in sync with the beauty of the world around you.
